Preparing for Your Visit

When it comes to running his dermatology
practice, Dr. Wiley has one overriding goal:
practice medicine in such a way that he would
be happy to be his own patient. With this goal
in mind, we hope to make your first visit to
our office as smooth and comfortable as
possible.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will
ensure that the doctor has all of the
information he needs to provide you with the
best possible care. It also helps alleviate any
anxiety you might feel prior to your
appointment. Please read through this page to
find valuable information on how to prepare
for your office visit and what to expect when
you visit.

What to Bring

In order for us to provide you with the highest quality care, please bring the following items to your visit:

  • A list of your current medications
  • Results from any tests you have undergone, related to your symptoms or condition Information on any dermatologic treatments you have had in the past – especially any treatments and medications associated with the condition that has led to your visit
  • Your completed Patient Registration and Privacy Notice Acknowledgement Forms, which you may download, complete and bring with you to your appointment. Although it is not necessary to fill out ahead of time, this will allow you a more efficient visit. It is also helpful (but not necessary) to bring: Medical records you think may be helpful (If needed, Dr. Wiley’s office can obtain these records after your visit, as well.)


What to Wear

It may be helpful for you to arrive for your appointment dressed comfortably in clothing that will allow the doctor to see the area being examined. Private changing rooms and patient robes are available, however, if needed. If your skin problem is on your face, you may wish to refrain from wearing make-up to your visit. Any makeup on or around the affected area may need to be removed prior to your exam and there are restrooms to do so.
