A Caring Environment

Tampa Skin Screening

When you visit Dr. Wiley’s office, you will
notice small details designed to make your
experience with us as pleasant and
comfortable as possible.

Our staff will always answer the phone –
never a computer system with a recorded
voice.  When you arrive, you will find ample
parking and a friendly face to greet you.
Magazines are current and appeal to a wide
range of interests.  There are no blaring
televisions, and because we do not overbook,
your time here will be spent with Dr. Wiley,
not waiting in the reception area.

Your exam room will have comfortable chairs,
serene views of a tropical courtyard, and a
private dressing area, if needed.  You’ll find
our gowns are cloth, not paper.  And all of our
exam tables are motorized and specially
designed to get so close to the floor that even
our shortest patients have no trouble getting
on to them.

Because we feel a special responsibility to our
patients, we stick to the practice of medicine.
That’s what we do best. We do not offer
cosmetic procedures or products.  You won’t
see drug brochures or marketing videos.  What
you will find is a thoughtful, compassionate
approach to patient care and a quiet
confidence that you will receive the best
medical care possible.

Appointments

Appointments can be made by calling the office at (813) 253-2635 during regular office hours. If you are an established patient and feel you need to be seen that day, please try to call the office prior to 8 a.m.

Please note that regular appointments book up two- to three-months in advance. We do have cancellations and reschedulings, and we have "work in" time slots for those who need appointments in a timely manner.

Established patients are given priority over non-established patients. If a timely appointment is not readily available when you call, please ask to be placed on our cancellation list, which is reviewed by Dr. Wiley daily. Patients with a flexible schedule can usually be accommodated quickly, even when the next regular appointment is months away.  Our staff is trained to be accommodating to your realistic needs.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel an appointment, please give the office as much notice as possible, so that we can offer that appointment to someone who may really need it.  While we appreciate 24 hours cancellation notice, even one or two hours notice will allow us to contact someone who lives near the office.

If you miss an appointment without canceling, please call the office to let us know that you are alright.  Since missed appointments in our practice are rare and patients typically have good reasons, we do not routinely charge for missed appointments.

Parking/Wheelchair Ramp

Parking is located on Stroud Avenue, as well as behind the office.  The front entrance is fully wheel chair compatible with a gradual slope from the parking area.  The handicapped parking space on Stroud Avenue has a cut-through in the sidewalk for wheelchairs that slopes into the office ramp.

Hurricane Policies

When the area is threatened by a hurricane or tropical storm, please observe the following guidelines:

If the office is in the “cone” of the storm as published by NOAA, but not under a watch or warning, please call 24 hours prior to your appointment, to confirm that we will be open.

If the Tampa area is under hurricane or tropical storm watch, the office may be closed. Please call the office to reconfirm your appointment prior to coming.

If the Tampa area is under hurricane or tropical storm warning, the office will be closed.  Please call the office at a later time to reschedule.

During a tropical storm or hurricane, the office phone will be answered by the answering service (located in Englewood, Florida). If that area is affected, you may not be able to reach the office for routine information. If you encounter an emergency during that time and cannot reach the office, proceed to your nearest available emergency room.

“The light on this bird was interesting to me. Light is common in my photographs. Light reveals special things. Light is what creates colors. Light, in my profession, is particularly important.  Light can cause disease.  Light can treat disease.”
